New Incoming International Students Resources

All international students are required to be on the ACU campus, meet financial settlement, check-in with the university, and be in attendance in their classes no later than the 5th class day each semester. Students unable to meet these deadlines should defer their enrollment to the following semester by contacting their Admissions Counselor.

  • International students applying for immigration documents will need to submit financial documents that meet the required financial document policy.
  • International students transferring from other U.S. high schools and universities can consult the F-1 Transfer-In Instructions and Request Form.
  • International students applying for an F-1 or J-1 visa to attend ACU can consult the "10 Points to Remember When Applying for a Non-Immigrant Visa" as well as the addendum for "Why did you choose ACU?"

  • In order to facilitate a student’s entry into the U.S. as a J-1 Exchange Visitor Student, please complete this form.
  • New Student Move-In

    • All students should plan to arrive in Abilene in time for move-in on Friday, January 7 from 8:00am to 11:30am.
    • Residence Life will offer an early move-in time for Freshman on Thursday, January 6, 2022. Students wishing to move in early are required to get approval at least 48 hours in advance.
    • Students will not be permitted to move in prior to the early move-in date indicated above so please plan accordingly. Should you arrive before this date, you will be responsible for making arrangements for your own accommodations.
    • Please also be aware that students will NOT be permitted to move into their residence halls until you have completed financial settlement and received your meningitis vaccination.

    New Student Orientation

    • New Student Orientation is required for all new students and will take place on Friday, January 7 beginning at 11:30am
    • During this time students will be able to participate in several activities which will include lunch, an open house/reception, a campus tour, immigration check-in and a student resource fair.

    INTL101: Orientation for ACU Global Students

    • INTL 101 is scheduled for Sunday, January 9 from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. with continuing sessions from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. the following Tuesday and Thursday. INTL101 is mandatory for all new international students (F1/J1). US Citizens with international backgrounds are welcome to attend as well but it is not required.

    Arrival Information

    • All new international students are asked to fill out an arrival form so that we are able to make necessary arrangements before you arrive on campus.
    • Complimentary airport pickups will be available from the Abilene Regional Airport (ABI) when you arrive. Please notify us of your arrival information as soon as you book your flight by filling out this form.
