WHAT IS ACU BRIDGE?
Students who could use a little extra support before launching into theirACU college career are admitted to Bridge, a residential program designed tosupport and enhance their propensity to be successful in our rigorous learningenvironment. Bridge students are fully part of the ACU community and earncourse credit toward an academic degree while being uniquely supported inand out of the classroom.

  • Introduce students to the academic, social and spiritual formation found at a faith-based institution like ACU.

Is it for me?

We consider a number of factors indicating a student’s college readiness,including GPA, standardized test scores and class rank. If you’re invited to bepart of ACU Bridge, it’s because we believe you can successfully complete afour-year degree at ACU with a little extra academic assistance your freshmanyear, including:

  • Peer-based support
  • Specific course sequencing and advising
  • Individual and group tutoring
  • Mentoring
  • Financial planning and workshops
  • Supplemental instruction
  • Learning strategies to foster long-term collegiate success
What is the admissions process?

There isn’t a separate application process for ACU Bridge. Students are selectedfrom among our applicants by our vice president for enrollment management.

What else do I need to know?

To participate in Bridge, you must:

  • Attend New Student Orientation in June
  • Live in an ACU residence hall
  • Follow the required course sequence determined by your Bridge advisor. Students will take 12 hours in their fall semester, which includes:
    • Math course
    • English course
    • CORE 110
    • BIBL 101
    • Supplemental instruction for CORE 110 and BIBL 101 Students seeking to take more than 12 hours for their fall semester must obtain permission for an academic exception through their academic advisor.
  • Attend all lectures, discussions, workshops, tutoring, seminars andactivities scheduled for you as a Bridge student
Do I qualify for scholarships or financial aid?

The cost to participate in the ACU Bridge Program is comparable to the costACU’s full-time freshmen incur, and Bridge students are eligible for financialaid and scholarships.

All Bridge students are offered, at minimum, a $9,000-per-year scholarshipupon admission to the ACU Bridge Program. In addition, students areencouraged to submit their FAFSA to ACU for consideration for grants andother need-based aid. At the conclusion of your Bridge program experience,you may earn an additional scholarship based on your GPA:

  • 2.5 GPA = $1,000 scholarship each year
  • 3.0 GPA = $1,500 scholarship each year
  • 3.25 GPA = $2,500 scholarship each year
  • 3.5 GPA = $3,500 scholarship each year

A 2.5 or better GPA is required to keep these scholarships.
