Brett

Brett Herman - President

Positions Description:
The President is the executive officer responsible for all internal and external affairs. He/she will help formulate the association’s long-term plan and be active in carrying out the mission of ISA through the events and activities of the association.

Officer’s Bio:
Brett Herman is a junior Mathematics Major from Fort Worth, Texas. He enjoys playing video games (particularly League of Legends), watching hockey and hanging out with friends. He wants to work towards building ISA into an even greater community where everyone can grow and have a place they can call home.

Sofia

Sofia Ramirez - Secretary

Position Description:
The Secretary is the advisor to the President, the executive officer responsible for the record keeping of information and discussions, scheduling and communication within the Executive Office of ISA.

Officer’s Bio:
Sofia is a sophomore Political Science major from Tegucigalpa, Honduras. She enjoys playing sports, especially tennis and absolutely loves Roger Federer. She loves to watch movies, experience new cultures and perspectives, talking and eating...especially eating. She hopes to one day travel so much that she would need an extra passport just to fit more stamps. She has found a home in ISA since the beginning being drawn by the amazing community and aspires to help the family keep growing.

Arnold

Arnold Charles - Treasurer

Position Description:
The Treasurer is the executive officer responsible for managing and handling all the financial activity and budget of ISA. Responsible for planning and submitting budget requests to the Students’ Association, keeping track of ISA financial balances, and responsible for managing finances to minimize loss and maximize gains for student productions and activities.

Officer’s Bio:
Arnold Yanni Charles is a Political Science honor student, minoring in business, English and public service. He is a Indian-Sri Lankan that grew up in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and has one of the most colorful personalities you will ever come across. He wishes to become an international lawyer, secure a position in the United Nations and change the world. Arnold is the epitome of extroversion and will go out of his way to meet someone new or indulge in a new experience. He is exhaustingly active all over campus, involved in several student organizations and the Student Government Association. Always being the “international kid” he has learned to love being exposed to various cultures and hence he quickly found a home in ISA. Arnold is driven by Love, Passion, and Ambition. He hopes to share his drive with his community of fellow international students.

Takuma

Takuma Tsuneki - Chaplain

Position Description:
The Chaplain is the executive officer responsible for the spiritual welfare and growth of the ISA community. Responsible for ISA and International Chapels, and all spiritual related activities in which ISA is involved.

Officer’s Bio:
Takuma Tsuneki (sophomore) is from Tokyo, Japan, and is currently majoring in Bible. He enjoys playing the guitar, singing, running, swimming and meeting new people. ISA and its community is home to many including Takuma, and he hopes to create an environment where people from various places can learn different things from each other while growing together through and with Christ.

Isabella

Isabella Maradiaga - Advertising/Public Relations Director

Position Description:
The Ad/PR Officer is executive officer responsible for planning the communication and promotion of all ISA events, promotions and other on social media platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

Officer’s Bio:
Isabella is from Tegucigalpa, Honduras and is pursuing a double-major in Marketing and Graphic Design. She enjoys painting, crafting, and basically anything related to art. You can probably find her with a sketchbook, grabbing some coffee, or reading Spanish literature. She has a terrible case of wanderlust and plans to travel the world someday because of her fascination with new cultures and languages. She hopes to make ISA a welcoming place for everyone, so that they may experience cultures from all around the world as they find their home away from home.

Jennifer

Jennifer Samuel - Sports Director

Position Description:
The Sports Director is the executive officer responsible for the organization and coordination of all sport activities of ISA and participation in intramural events.

Officer’s Bio:
Jennifer is from Chennai, India and is currently a Junior biochemistry major. She enjoys cooking and sharing her delicious Indian food with others while also playing basketball whenever she can. You can find her studying in the library (or in the trees behind the bible building) and loves to make new friends. ISA has given Jennifer a community of friends she can call family and also hopes to help others grow in the family she has come to love so dearly.

Veronica

Veronica Whitt - Advisor

Position Description:
ISA Advisor - Staff/Faculty of Abilene Christian University with substantial experience abroad, and working with students from different parts of the world. She is responsible for keeping ISA officers accountable and guiding students in furthering the goals and vision of the International Students' Association.

Advisor's Bio:
Veronica was born and raised in Cebu, Philippines and came to the U.S. in 2009 to attend ACU. During her time as a student she was very involved in ISA and served President in the 2011-12 school year. Veronica graduated in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in Family Studies and is currently working on completing her Master’s Degree in Liberal Arts. She also serves as the Coordinator of International Student Services here on campus. As an advisor, she hopes to provide adequate support and guidance to the ISA officers which will foster their growth as global leaders.
