What Microsoft certifications are available?

Microsoft certification for Office 2019/Office 365 is available in Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word for all ACU students, faculty, and staff. Available exams and exam objectives are described here.

What materials do I need to prepare?

Bundled vouchers may be purchased from the ACU Campus Store. Bundles contain one voucher each for: (a) LearnKey self-paced, computer-based training software; (b) GMetrix practice test; and (c) Certiport Microsoft certification exam. In addition to the voucher bundle, patrons will pay a $10 fee for each exam administered by the ACU Testing Center.

What do I need to know before I register to take the exam?

The Certiport Microsoft certification exam voucher only allows one attempt. It is important that you pass the GMetrix practice test more than once so you can be confident that you will pass the Certiport test. (You may take the practice test as many times as you wish.)

A minimum passing score on the Microsoft official exam is 80%. If you do not pass the certification exam on your first attempt, you are allowed to test again, but you will have to purchase a new voucher bundle from the Campus Store. Additionally, you must wait at least 24 hours before retaking the exam. If you do not achieve a passing score the second time, you must wait at least 48 hours before retaking the exam successive times. Each exam administration will require the purchase of a new voucher bundle so it pays to prepare well the first time.

When I'm ready, how do I register to take the exam?

1. Register for a Certiport account. This is different from your GMetrix account and is only used for the exam.
2. Schedule an exam time with the ACU Testing Center here.
3. Review the Certiport exam policies here.
4. Bring your Certiport Microsoft certification exam voucher with you to the ACU Testing Center at the time of your exam.

Are accommodations available?

Yes. Request accommodations for the exam directly through Certiport. The process can take up to 10 business days. Certiport exams approved with accommodations will be proctored on an individual basis and can be scheduled by emailing acutesting@acu.edu. Apply for Certiport test accommodations here.
