The goal of ACU's Automated External Defibrillator (AED) program is to increase the rate of survival of people who have sudden cardiac arrest. AEDs make it possible for trained responders to administer defibrillation prior to the arrival of Emergency Medical Services (EMS). There are over 50 AEDs on the ACU Abilene campus. AEDs are placed in all ACU Police Department vehicles which can quickly be deployed anywhere on campus."
