Missions at ACU

Our mission is to infuse missional and intercultural competence into the entire ACU campus, inspiring and equipping all students, faculty and staff to join in God’s mission as we become exceptional, innovative and real disciples for Christ in the world.

The Halbert Center offers students, faculty and staff the opportunity to be involved in various missions and global service opportunities around the world. Our programs complement ACU’s undergraduate and graduate degrees by providing missions opportunities outside the classroom to all ACU students, regardless of major.

Vision -- The entire ACU family, fully on mission with God.

  • Athletics
  • College of Business Administration
  • Department of Engineering and Physics
  • Department of Kinesiology and Nutrition
  • Department of Teacher Education

GAP Year

Several ACU students are opting for a “GAP” year. “GAP” has a double meaning: it is our Global Apprenticeship Program and also typically takes place in the “gap” between graduation and whatever comes next for a student. The students partner with missionaries and ministries around the world for six-month to two-year service terms. GAP experiences can be catered to a student’s individual areas of interest.

Other missions activity at ACU

Each year, groups travel to numerous destinations to feed the hungry, give the thirsty something to drink, visit and care for the sick, partner with local communities in work projects, teach, and share Jesus’ love with the oppressed. Through the ACU Halbert Center for Missions and Global Service, students can also participate in missions activities like:

  • Conferences
  • Discernment groups / mentoring
  • Local missional opportunities
  • Missions chapel
  • Missions Student Association
  • Weekend Campaigns
  • Workshops and missions events
