Move-In Safety Procedures

The safety of our students, families and community is our number one priority during move-in. We are taking extra precautions to provide a safe and smooth move-in experience. The following protocols will be in place for residence hall move-in:

  • Residence Life staff and all volunteers are required to wear face coverings
  • Each student is allowed two guests to assist with move-in
  • Students and their 2 guests are required to have their temperature taken at the time of check-in. All who have a temperature below 100.4 (based on the CDC guidelines) will receive a wristband. With the wristband, students and guests will be permitted inside the residence halls and all other buildings on campus. Without a wristband guests will not be permitted inside ACU buildings.
  • Students and families are required to wear masks inside residence halls with the exception of the student’s bedroom. If multiple family units are present in a room at the same time, masks are required.
  • Check-in for freshmen move-in on August 16, will  take place at each vehicle and will include:
    • Temperature check of student and 2 guests
    • Student given their room key
    • Student given their welcome to campus bag (ACU reusable mask, ACU hand sanitizer and information)
  • Residence halls will have signage about physical distancing and handwashing protocol
  • Room occupancy is set at six people at a time
  • ACU PD will help with traffic
  • Hand sanitizer wall mounts will be accessible throughout each residence hall

  • Prior to move-in, we are asking students and those helping them to self-monitor the week leading up to arriving on campus. If anyone is experiencing symptoms, they are required to reschedule move-in to a time and date when they are symptom free
  • Self move-in: For 2nd-year students and those who choose a self move-in, you can find details outlined below:
    • All safety procedures will be maintained throughout the self move-in
      • Students and guests will check-in at the main lobby, to get their temperature taken, wristband, ACU mask, and room key
