CPHP students are allowed to select any major on campus to earn a degree in while also working toward their professional goals in a health-service field. The most common majors pursued by our students are biology, biochemistry, kinesiology, nutrition and animal science.

Biology

The Department of Biology offers multiple tracks that include pre-health prerequisites for all health professions. For interested undergraduate students, excellent opportunities exist to participate in research with biology faculty members.

Chemistry and Biochemistry

Students can choose a biochemistry major with a biomedical sciences track that includes pre-health prerequisites for all health professions. Chemistry and biochemistry faculty are active researchers with outstanding opportunities for undergraduates to participate as research assistants.

Kinesiology and Nutrition

From the action-packed excitement on the field adjacent to Wildcat Stadium to patient care in a clinic, the Department of Kinesiology & Nutrition offers several pre-health tracks, including pre-athletic training (3+2), pre-occupational therapy, pre-physical therapy and dietetics. Pre-health students have opportunities to be involved in research activities with our department faculty.
