Ongoing updates on library services in light of the coronavirus (COVID-19)
The ACU Library is committed to providing services to both faculty and students during this challenging time. Access to the ACU Brown Library is limited to current ACU faculty, staff, and students due to campus restrictions related to COVID-19. Current hours for the library are 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday. Team55, the Learning Commons, and Starbucks are available during library hours. During this time, interlibrary loan book requests will be available to faculty and staff only.
For those who are not able to come to the library, many resources are available in electronic format and accessible from any computer off‐campus via ACU Single-Sign-On authentication. These resources can be found through the library website at https://www.acu.edu/library. Many of our databases are responsive to mobile devices, including phones and tablets.
Should you need help locating specific resources or have issues accessing databases or other electronic sources, you can contact us through our virtual reference service by following this link: http://asklibrary.acu.edu/. Our Ask-a-Librarian virtual reference services will be provided through chat in the afternoons and evenings. If our chat service is not being monitored, the service will send an email with your question. There are librarians who are tasked with responding to emails as they come in. If you have a more complicated issue, you can contact Melinda Isbell at 325.674.2969.
If you have required reading assigned during this period of online classes, first contact the publisher of your textbooks to see if you can get online access for yourself and students. Many publishers are providing free digital access during this time. If this is not an option, or if the publisher instructs you to contact your library, please complete this form: https://forms.gle/SQW6W3ST753dfVLs9. If digital access is not an option, your department may have scanning capabilities. You can scan the assigned chapters into a pdf and upload them to Canvas files. If you need help doing this, contact the Adams Center and someone there can provide you with assistance. If your department does not have a scanner, the library has a book scanner available for public use. The library cannot ensure that copies of assigned books are in our collection or available to the library electronically. If you would prefer to put materials on electronic reserve, or if you need assistance acquiring required reading for your classes, please complete this form: https://forms.gle/SQW6W3ST753dfVLs9.
