Accommodations

Housing Accommodation and Off Campus Request Form
All first-year and second-year students are required to live on-campus, regardless of the number of hours earned, unless you meet one of our exceptions. Occasionally but rarely, a student has a physical or mental health situation that warrants a waiver from the ACU housing policy. If you are seeking accommodation for physical or mental health reasons, you will start your process with University Access Programs and can find more information here.

Effective Fall 2019Students who are granted an off-campus housing accommodation or waiver (apart from Abilene residents living with their parents) will be required to live in University Park Apartments. While offering apartment-style living, University Park presents students with an opportunity for community while remaining in close proximity to the university. Students living at University Park will also be required to have a Lifestyle, Classic, or All Access meal plan.

Off Campus Housing Exceptions:

1. Student is married and files marriage license with the Residence Life office.

2. Student is 21 years of age prior to the beginning of the fall semester.

3. Student has graduated from high school more than two years prior to the start of the Fall semester. Home schooled students and students who have earned dual credit are not exempt from this policy.

4. Student’s parent or guardian is an Abilene resident and student will live with his/her parent or guardian at this residence. The permission form can be found here.  The completed form will need to be signed by a parent and notarized before returning to the Office of Residence Life, McGlothlin Campus Center Room 43M.

5. Student is enrolled in less than 12 hours at ACU.

6. Student previously lived four long semesters in residence halls.
