Excel Tutoring provides comprehensive, peer tutoring to all students at ACU.

The Excel Tutors are comprised of ACU students meeting sophomore year status and a specific GPA requirement. All tutors are trained to assist with various academic needs students may encounter. Tutoring is offered in most subjects as well as study skills areas such as time-management, organization, exam preparation, note-taking, etc.

Tutors are required to attend a minimum of 10 hours of training. In addition to training, tutors are required to achieve Level I CRLA certification through CRLA’s national certification. This certification requires tutors to have 25 hours of one-on one tutoring experience and 10 hours of training. Our tutoring staff is comprised of tutors who are Level I: Certified Tutors to advanced tutors who are Level III: Master Tutors.

Tutoring for specific university required courses is free of charge. Tutoring for other courses is charged at a rate of $5 per 30 minutes. Appointment tutoring can be scheduled 7 days a week between the hours of 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. Tutors will email you confirmation of your appointment as well as coordinate the meeting location. If your tutoring appointment is to be missed or rescheduled, please notify your tutor in a timely manner (24 hours notice is preferred.) Students who no-show or cancel with less than 2 hours notice will be charged at a rate of $5 per 30 minute session.
