Overview

Greetings, and welcome to Abilene Christian University’s School of Social Work. ACU has been educating social workers for over thirty years, and has over 500 undergraduate alumni/alumnae serving and advocating for persons in need across the United States and around the world. Since the initiation of our graduate program in social work in 2007, the School has educated nearly 150 additional alumni/alumnae for advanced professional practice.

The School of Social Work’s academic programs prepare our graduates to employ evidence-based interventions that offer hope, healing and equitable treatment for individuals, families, groups, communities and organizations. Whether you are looking for an undergraduate experience that will ready you for entry-level social work practice, or for an advanced professional degree in social work, we believe ACU’s School of Social Work can provide you an education that will open many doors throughout your career.

As you look over the programs, activities and resources of the School of Social Work on our web site, we hope you will gain a richer understanding of what we are about, and how we might partner in mutually constructive ways. Of course, you’re always welcome to drop in and talk with us on the ACU campus, or to call or email us if you have questions or just want to visit.

Cordially,

Thomas L. Winter
Director, ACU School of Social Work
