The allied health and healthcare industry is growing exponentially and encompasses people who work in almost every profession. ACU’s online bachelor’s degrees will provide the knowledge and tools you need to launch a successful career in this sector.
While each of the four departments offering bachelor’s degrees specializes in a specific area of education or human services, all programs are grounded in our shared Christian faith and taught by faculty with a personal commitment to mentoring students.
The programs in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, accredited by ASHA, the American Speech and and Hearing Association, prepare students to serve individuals with communication disorders. The undergraduate program lays the foundation for you to pursue graduate studies in speech-language pathology or audiology. As a graduate of the Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology program, you’ll be prepared to take the national examination to be a licensed speech-language pathologist.
Students in the Department of Kinesiology and Nutrition work as agents of change modeling wellness and living out Christian values with and for the communities and people they serve. In community, corporate, commercial and clinical settings, you will learn to embody principles of health and wellness, refining your knowledge of true wellbeing as you lead and serve others in developing physical wholeness and health.
The Department of Occupational Therapy trains students to help people who are coping with a physical or cognitive limitation to participate fully in their desired and needed activities. The Department offers both a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy and a Doctor of Occupational Therapy program, both of which are accredited by the American Council on Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE).
The Department of Teacher Education prepares students to be exemplary educators, equipped to serve in diverse and multicultural communities. Degree programs are available that equip you to teach every grade level from early childhood education through high school, as well as special education and all-level subjects like music, art and Spanish.
Students in the School of Social Work dedicate their careers to improving the lives of others. You will be trained to employ evidence-based interventions to offer hope, healing and equitable treatment for individuals, families, groups and communities, demonstrating God’s hope and healing for the world in tangible ways.
