ACU named to ‘Great Colleges to Work For’ Honor Roll

For the 11th time in the last 12 years, Abilene Christian University has been recognized as one of the Great Colleges to Work For by The Chronicle of Higher Education
The results, published in the Sept. 18 issue, are based on an annual survey of administrators, faculty members and professional support staff members at colleges and universities in the U.S. who are asked to evaluate their employer on various qualities and characteristics.
For the second time in a decade, ACU is also among 30 four-year institutions named to the “Great Colleges” Honor Roll for achievements in five categories: Facilities, Workspace and Security; Job Satisfaction; Professional/Career Development Programs; Supervisor/Department Chair Relationship; and Work/Life Balance. The Honor Roll highlights the 10 institutions in each size category cited most often across all of the recognition categories. ACU is cited in the 3,000-9,999 students category.
“Our faculty and staff are passionate about our mission and committed to our students,” said Dr. Phil Schubert, ACU president. “A workplace culture that honors and supports employees is a priority for me and for our board and administration. Our faculty and staff determine our success in educating students for Christian service and leadership throughout the world.”
In 2020, 221 institutions and 41,000 people participated in the survey, and 79 institutions were recognized as a Great College to Work For.
