Abilene Christian University offers a variety of merit- and need-based scholarships and grants to qualified new and returning students. Please contact the student financial services office for more details and application information about these awards.

Freshman Merit Scholarships

ACU considers high school GPA, class rank and ACT/SAT test scores. These awards range from $6,500 per year to $15,000 per year:        

  • National Merit Finalist/Semifinalist
  • National Merit Commended Award
  • National Hispanic Recognition Award
  • National Achievement Scholarship

Valedictorian/Salutatorian Scholarship 

Valedictorian/Salutatorian ScholarshipACU’s valedictorian/salutatorian scholarship ($1,000) is available to first-time entering freshman students only who ranked No. 1 or No. 2 in their high school class.

International Students

Multicultural Scholarships for New Students

  • Cultures of ACU Scholarship - Competitive scholarship that provides an award for students of any ethnicity who demonstrate a diverse perspective and experience that can be used to promote a culture of diversity in ACU. ($2,500 per year; 20 available)  
  • Hispanic Leadership Council/ACU Partnership Scholarship - Provides an award for Hispanic students currently attending a school in the Region 14 Education Center system (Abilene and surrounding areas)
  • Southwestern Christian College Award - Provides an award to undergraduates with an Associate Degree from Southwestern Christian College and who demonstrate the desire and ability to excel academically. ($8,000 per year)
