Sing. Dance. Direct. Design. Whether you prefer cast or crew, Broadway or community theatre, plays or musicals, there’s no denying the exciting options for a career in theatre.
Our Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) in theatre is a studio-intensive course of study designed for students with a strong commitment to a professional career in performance, directing, design, teaching or theatre ministry. Our curriculum and facilities are contemporary and cutting-edge. As a theatre student, you’ll receive a well-rounded education with hands-on experience in all phases of backstage work. Students in performance and design tracks are encouraged to spend their final semester studying with Broadway and industry professionals in New York City. We bring in agents from New York, Los Angeles and other major cities for senior recitals.
At ACU, we seek to integrate faith and the artistic life, and we produce quality theatre influenced by our Christian worldview. A typical ACU season consists of five or more productions including a large-scale musical and a student-directed work.
Note: Our program is competitive; we accept only 12 incoming students each fall. This allows for more performance and learning opportunities for our students.
