ResNet is an ethernet connection that allows users an instant in-room Internet access 24 hours a day. If you can't access the network from your room please contact Team55 at Ext. 5555. You may also visit one of the labs on campus to get access to what you need.
You will need a 10-Base-T ethernet card installed on your computer and a category 5 ethernet cable with RJ 45 connectors.
Where can I purchase an Ethernet Card?
Most computer stores carry the hardware you need. The ACU Campus Store also sells ethernet cards, cables, and ethernet card installs.
Can I still connect with a modem?
Yes. You can connect to the on-campus modem pool. Check out our dial-up instructions if you want to set your machine up.
How much does this connection cost?
There are NO additional charges for using either the ethernet or modem connection in your room.
What if I am not getting all the CableTV channels? /p>
In order to get all the cable channels you must make sure your TV is set to cable mode. Most TVs allow you to change this setting from your remote control. Once you have your TV set properly make sure you scan for new channels. If you have any problems contact Team55 at (325) 674-5555. Get a list of CableTV channels here.
What if I can't get my ethernet connection to work?
The first step in all troubleshooting is to make sure your computer is setup properly. Check out our ethernet instructions to make for sure that your machine has the proper settings. If your machine still doesn't connect try rebooting and check to make sure that your ethernet cable is plugged into the wall and to the back of your machine. If you continue to have problems find your dorm ResNet worker or call the Team55 office at (325) 674-5555.
