Are you a current AT&T customer?

Do not contact AT&T directly to setup your account.  ACU will provide you with device information and a number to call to get your account created.  This will take place after you have selected the device and the bulk shipment has been received by ACU.

If you are a current AT&T Customer all you will need is your account information and the ability to identify that you are the account holder. The AT&T Representative should be able to pull up your account records to process the activation of your new phone.

Before calling, ensure that you are an authorized user on the account or that someone who is an authorized user is with you. This will help to expedite the activation process.

Are you a new AT&T customer?

If you are a new AT&T Customer you will need to create an AT&T Account.  A deposit may be required upon credit review.  If transferring an existing phone number from another account you will need the following information:

  • Account Number
  • Name of the account holder
  • Account holder’s SSN

  • PIN or password (if applicable)
  • Bringing a recent bill from your service provider may help to provide a large portion of this information.

What if I haven't yet established a credit history and AT&T is requiring a deposit to activate a phone?

You have several options:

  • You may ask your parents to sign for you, using their credit history
  • You may choose an iPod touch, which requires no paid plan
  • You may wait until you arrive on campus in August and request a credit
    waiver from ACU.

This is an agreement between you and the university
that you and an ACU administrator will sign.  (See example waiver letter)
