Tips for Using QR Codes
Keep the Quiet Space
It is essential that you leave the white area outside of the QR code images in place in order for them work. This is called the quiet space and allows apps to identify and interpret the information.
Mobilize Your Landing Page
Keep in mind that the people that scan your QR code will be on a mobile device. Sending them to a mobilized page makes their experience that much more positive. Check to make sure that your videos and other content work on a mobile device before you put the code in place.
Test! Test! Test!
Make sure to test your QR code in the environment that you plan to use it in. Make sure that the size of the code is large enough that the consumer doesn’t have to go through a lot to scan the image. Remember that QR codes are designed to make it easier to access interactive content.
Don't Forget to Use shortened URLs
Remember that not all devices have QR code readers or cameras but may have the ability to surf the web. Using a shortened URL includes these consumers and allows them to participate.
Don’t Use a QR Code Just to Use it
Make sure that you are making it easier (or just as easy) for your customers to interact with your content. Sometimes adding digital content to a process is not always the best answer. Just put some thought into what you choose to do.
