Events Coming Soon
2009 Slithy Tove

who's invited?: everyone
what is it?: an open-mic poetry reading
when is it?: Tuesday, Dec. 4, from 7:00-9:00 p.m.
where is it?: the Inkwell, in the basement of Chambers
why should I?: because it's poetic, nerdy, and above all - fun!

Come to the Slithy Tove, and bring your friends with you.  We'll provide the musical entertainment, copies of last year's edition for free, pie, and hot drinks - you just have to bring a pair of ears and some poetry.  It doesn't matter whose - you can read your own, or bring your favorite poets' (we'll bring some books you can thumb through, as well).  It's going to be a frolicking good time (snaps included, black beret optional!).

What's a slithy tove, you ask?  Why, it's simple:

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
- Lewis Carroll, "Jabberwocky"

Also coming soon - the deadline to submit to the magazine.  It's on January 19, at 5:00 p.m.!
