Sing Song
Sing Song gives GATA a chance to form closer friendships during the spring semester. The Women of GATA spend more than seven hours a week for six weeks practicing for their Sing Song performance. With only a limited amout of ladies, practices are crucial for a synchronized and sharp performance. Choreography and vocals must be rehearsed over and over. Yet, with all the practicing GATA does, Sing Song practices are a place where friendship bonding and memories can always be found.
Not only do members have to practice to learn their songs and movements, they must also construct their costumes and props for the stage. Many hours of hard work go into making costumes and props that go along with the theme chosen by the club.
ACU’s Sing Song theme for 2007 was “Shift into High Gear.” With this theme, GATA chose the theme of “Ladies in Red.” The GATA act centered around fun songs all given new lyrics centered on the ladybug theme.
Under the coordination of Sing Song director Becca Cawyer, who was dressed as a flower, GATA presented their Sing Song performance a total of four times on February 15th, 16th, and 17th. As ladybugs, the Women of GATA looked adorable!
