EDINBURG -- The nationally ranked ACU men's and women's tennis teams each have a busy weekend of action coming up with the men's scheduled to play seven times and the women six times between Thursday and Monday.
The 13th-ranked ACU women and the 24th-ranked men will each get their weekends started Thursday at 4:30 p.m. when they play Texas-Pan American in a dual match in Edinburg. Both teams will then take on Laredo College at 9 a.m. Friday in Edinburg, followed by 1 p.m. matches against Texas Southern in Edinburg.
Both teams will then move on to New Braunfels on Saturday where they will each play St. Mary's at 9 a.m. at the T-Bar-M Ranch. The men's team will then go to College Station that night for a 6 p.m. match against Texas A&M, which is ranked No. 13 in NCAA Division I.
The men's and women's teams will both take on St. Edward's at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Penick-Allison Courts on the University of Texas campus in Austin, and then the Wildcats' trip will conclude Monday at 9 a.m. when they both play Cameron in New Braunfels. Cameron's men are ranked 33rd in the nation, and the women are ranked 36th in Division II.
The ACU women are 11-3 on the season, but haven't played since last Friday when they swept Collin County Community College and Eastern New Mexico, both by scores of 9-0. The ACU men are 11-4 on the season and haven't played since beating Collin County, 9-0, last Saturday in Abilene.
