DENVER -- ACU's tough season-opening schedule continues this weekend when the Wildcats head to the Rocky Mountains to take part in the Premier Challenge, which will feature some of the top NCAA Division II teams in the nation, including last year's nation champion.
The Wildcats are 0-3 on the season after dropping three matches last weekend in Tampa, Fla., at the Tampa Classic. ACU lost by 3-0 scores to both No. 9 Tampa and No. 7 Central Missouri State before losing in five games to perennial NCAA Division II Southwest Region powerhouse Metro State (Colo.)
Metro State co-hosts the 12-team Premier Challenge with Regis University, and ACU is scheduled to play Regis (1-3) on Friday in pool play. The Wildcats will get the tournament started at 1 p.m. Friday when they take on No. 6 Concordia-St. Paul, their third nationally ranked opponent in their first four matches of the season.
