DENTON -- The ACU Wildcats rolled through the second of two Lone Star Conference crossover tournaments on Saturday as the 14th-ranked team in the nation extended its winning streak to 20 straight matches. The Wildcats, who started the season 0-3, are now 20-3 after beating Cameron, Southwestern Oklahoma State and Texas Woman's at Kitty Magee Arena on the TWU campus. ACU will return to action Thursday at 7 p.m. when it hosts Tarleton State at Moody Coliseum in the Wildcats' last regular season home match. ACU opened the tournament on Friday with a 3-1 win over Cameron (28-30, 30-27, 30-23, 30-21) in a match that marked the first time a team had taken a game off the Wildcats since a 3-1 win over Central Oklahoma on Sept. 16. It also marked the first time since Sept. 2 against Concordia-St. Paul that a team had taken the first game from the Wildcats. Friday night Wildcats hammered Southwestern Oklahoma State in three games (30-19, 30-17, 30-18), and then on Saturday ACU finished the tournament with a 3-1 win over Texas Woman's, 28-30, 31-29, 30-21, 30-28. The senior duo of outside hitter Michelle Bernhardt and middle blocker Amanda Slate led the Wildcats during the weekend as Bernhardt finished with 47 kills and 47 digs and Slate had 53 kills, 10 service aces and 12 total blocks.
