Three Wildcats honored for academic work

Bernhardt, Morrow, Martin named academic all-district

LAWTON, Okla. -- Three ACU volleyball players have been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) academic all-District VI team, including two to the first team.

Junior outside hitter Michelle Bernhardt of Hereford and senior libero Kellen Morrow of Arlington were each named to the first team, while junior setter Lindsey Martin was named to the second team.

Both Bernhardt and Morrow will now have their names placed on the ballot to be considered for academic all-America honors.

Bernhardt -- the Lone Star Conference South Division Pre-Season Player of the Year -- is a two-time first team academic all-district selection, while Morrow earns her first district academic honor.

Martin, who leads the LSC in assists per game at 13.48 per game -- was a third team academic all-district honoree in 2003.

Bernhardt carries a 3.82 grade point average in engineering science, while Morrow has a 3.90 in history and Martin a 3.96 in exercise science.
