Bernhardt named academic all-district

Sophomore outside hitter now up for academic all-America honors

RICHARDSON -- ACU sophomore outside hitter Michelle Bernhardt has been named first team team CoSIDA Academic all-District VI for her performance both on the court and in the classroom during the 2003 season.

Bernhardt, who carries a 3.90 grade point average while majoring in engineering, led the Wildcats to a 25-11 season by leading the team in kills with 623, the second-highest single-season total in school history.

Bernhardt's name will now be placed on the national ballot for academic all-America honors.  The last Wildcat volleyball player to earn academic all-America honors was Cathe Crow in 1992.
