BOSTON - The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association on Thursday night named ACU distance runner Nicodemus Naimadu its National Indoor Male Athlete of the Year. Naimadu, a five-time NCAA Division II individual national champion in both track and field and cross country, was also named the NCAA Division II South Central Region Male Athlete of the Year. Earlier this year he was named the top regional and national male athlete in cross country. Last year he was the top regional and national male athlete in cross country and indoor track and field. He was the top regional male athlete in outdoor track and field. Naimadu enters this weekend's NCAA Division II indoor championship meet with the top time in the nation in the 5000 meters (13:42.29). His time in that event is more than 25 seconds better than the next-best time. He will also compete in both the mile and as part of the Wildcats' distance medley relay.
