ABILENE -- Don D. Hood said it best on the August afternoon he was hired when he admitted his job as the men’s track and field coach at ACU would be to maintain what is the most dominant program in all of NCAA Division II.

The Wildcats have won eight straight national championships (indoor and outdoor each year since 2002), and appear to have the parts in place to win both championships in 2006. In his first year as the head coach, Hood’s job is to help the men’s team stay the course.
