Murray adds two more freshmen

Runners to compete in cross country, track and field

ABILENE -- ACU head track and field coach Jon Murray announced Friday that he has added distance runners Jon Saldivar and Kevin Jackson to the Wildcats' 2005 men's track and field roster.

Both Saldivar and Jackson are freshmen with Saldivar joining ACU from Pharr, TX, and Jackson from College Station.  Saldivar is a 2004 graduate of Los Fresnos Saldivar High School, while Jackson graduated from A&M Consolidated High School.

Saldivar is a two-time District 32-4A runner-up in the 1600 meters (2003) and 3200 meters (2004).  He has career bests of 4:29.0 in the 1600 meters, 9:59.0 in the 3200 meters and 15:46.0 in the 5000 meters.

Jackson has career-best marks of 2:04.0 in the 800 meters, 4:40.0 in the 1600 meters and 10:45.0 in the  3200 meters.
