ACU dominates LSC tournament

Wildcat teams share 13 of a possible 18 championships

WICHITA FALLS -- The ACU men's and women's tennis teams dominated the inaugural Lone Star Conference individual championship tournament, winning 13 of 18 possible singles and doubles titles.

The ACU women won five of singles titles and all three doubles titles, while the men won three of six singles championships and two of three doubles titles.

The only championship the ACU women failed to win came at No. 1 singles where their No. 1 player -- Summer Beesley -- was knocked out of the tournament in Friday's semifinals.  Rachel Taylor won the Flight 2 singles title, while Ashley Hawk-Caperton won the Flight 3 title.  Lana Pavlin won the Flight 4 singles title, Holly Lindloff won in Flight 5, and Meagan Brown won the Flight 6 title.

In doubles, Beesley and Taylor won the Flight 1 title, while Pavlin and Lindloff won the Flight 2 title and Caperton and Joy Israel won the Flight 3 title.

On the men's side, Artin Tafazoli won the Flight 1 singles title, and then teamed with Kevin Beed to win the Flight 3 doubles title.  Jason Ray won the Flight 3 singles title, while Beedy won the Flight 6 singles title.  George Carstens and Evan Puglia won the Flight 1 doubles title.
