ABILENE - ACU coaches added six more athletes in four sports Tuesday as those athletes inked binding letters-of-intent to compete for the Wildcats, beginning in the 2002-03 school year.

ACU head baseball coach Britt Bonneau brought in three athletes in pitchers Sam Hall and Brandon Shaw and shortstop Matt Callahan, while softball coach Carol Tabor signed Kristin Alvarado, Todd Mack signed to play golf and Abbie Waters signed to run track.

Here's a brief rundown on each athlete:

As a junior he hit .450 with seven home runs and 35 RBI, and followed that as a senior with a .460 batting average, seven home runs and 30 RBI. He was also a standout baseball player, averaging better than 17 points per game in his career and earning league MVP honors as a senior.
SAM HALL, lhp, 6-5, 210, fr, Hamilton, TX -- Hall joins the Wildcats after a stellar career at Evant High School where the lanky left-hander recorded 480 strikeouts in four years. As a senior at Evant, he struck out 210 batters and had a career-low 1.57 ERA. He was all-district all four years and first team all-state as a senior. He was also all-Super CenTex as both a junior and senior.

GOLF

Mack will have one year of eligibility left when he joins the Wildcats in the fall of 2002.
