ABILENE -- ACU coaches have signed three more athletes to binding letters-of-intent for the 2002-03 school year.
Athletes who agreed to become Wildcats are Mollye Stanford in women's cross country and track and field, Michele Gereaux in softball and Zach Harris in baseball.
Stanford recently graduated from Grapevine High School where she was a standout in cross country, track and field and basketball. An 11-time letterwinner in the three sports, she was a state qualifier in cross country as a junior and a regional qualifier as a sophomore, junior and senior. She was captain of the cross country team in her junior and senior seasons, and captain of the the track and field team as a sophomore, junior and senior. She has personal bests of 2:19 in the 800 meters and 5:29 in the 1600 meters. She also lettered three years in basketball, and was all-district as a sophomore and junior.
Gereaux is an outfielder/first baseman who hit .365 last season at West Valley (Calif.) College. A 2000 graduate of Piedmont Hills High School in San Jose, Calif., Gereaux was a first team all-district player in high school as a freshman and junior, and second team as a sophomore and senior. She was a first team all-league player last year as a sophomore at West Valley College.
Harris was one of the key pitchers on Humble High School's district championship team last season. Harris, an all-district selection, led the Wildcats to a 23-8 record under head coach David Sitton, and the District 22-5A championship. Humble was knocked out of the state playoffs by Brazoswood.
