Seven basketball players honored as academic all-LSC

ACU has most honorees in LSC South Division

Seven ACU basketball players -- the most of any school than any other school in the Lone Star Conference South Division and tied with Southwestern Oklahoma for the most in the conference -- have been named academic all-LSC for the 2001-02 season.

Carter, who last week was named first team Verizon academic all-District VI, is joined on the women's academic all-LSC team by senior guard Brenda Jacoby. Carter is majoring in human communication, while Jacoby graduated in December 2001 with a degree in secondary education.

On the men's side, forward Tucker Pierson was named academic all-LSC. Pierson, a sophomore from Corpus Christi, is undecided on his major.

Four women's players -- senior guard Kristi Taylor, junior forward Sara McBroom and sophomore guards Jenny Jackson and Leah Wilson -- were named to the LSC South Division Commissioner's Honor Roll. Taylor was a first team all-LSC selection as a junior.
