Andrew PrinceAndrew Prince was a three-year letterman in basketball for the Wildcats, twice he earned NAIA all-America, and he set ACU records for most points in a career (1,624) and most points (642) and rebounds (445) in one season. He has been men's assistant basketball coach at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches since 1988. The 6-7 forward was team captain, second team all-Lone Star Conference as a junior in 1973-74, first team all-conference as a senior in 1974-75, NAIA all-district as a junior and senior, and LSC all-tournament. He still holds ACU records for most points and rebounds in one season, and he now ranks third on the all-time career scoring list and second on the all-time rebound list at ACU. Prince was assistant coach at ACU from 1983 to 1988 after playing professional basketball in Europe for eight seasons. He helped coach the Wildcats to three straight Lone Star Conference basketball championships in 1985, 1986 and 1987, including a 44-game home court winning streak in Moody Coliseum. He is a 1971 graduate of Stroman High School in Victoria, where he was high school all-America. Prince received a B.S. degree in education in 1975 and M.Ed. degree in school administration in 1980 from Abilene Christian. |
