Address: 1525 E.S. 11th Shotwell Stadium map Built in 1959, the off-campus facility is also the home of both Abilene and Abilene Cooper high school football teams and hosts several high school football playoff games each year. ACU has enjoyed tremendous success at Shotwell, racking up a 121-91-3 mark (.563 winning percentage) in the 43 years it has been playing at Shotwell. The Wildcats' best stretch at Shotwell came in a six-year run from 1973-78 when they went 32-3 (.914 winning percentage). Included in the 32 victories were a pair of NAIA Division I semifinal playoff victories: 34-6 over Langston (Okla.) College on Dec. 1, 1973, and the other a 35-7 whipping of Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Dec. 3, 1977. ACU went on to win NAIA Division I national championships after each of those semifinal victories. Some of the players - ACU and otherwise - who have played at Shotwell include Wilbert Montgomery (former ACU and Philadelphia Eagle running back), Thomas "Hollywood" Henderson, Wade Wilson, Darrell Green, Gary Reasons, John Randle, Harvey Martin, Mark Mosley, Bobby Hebert, Pierce Holt, Johnny Bailey, Johnny Perkins, Clint Longley, Wayne Walton, Johnny Perkins, Cle Montgomery, Grant Feasel and Chip Bennett.
