ACU set to host Classic

Wildcat teams get seasons started Friday

ABILENE -- The ACU men's and women's cross country teams will get their respective 2005 seasons started Friday when they host the ACU Cross Country Classic at Sherrod Park.

Both teams are under the direction of new head coach Derek Hood, who takes over for Jon Murray, who left in July to become an assistant coach at Texas Tech.  The ACU men's team has finished in the top three at the NCAA Division II national championship cross country meet each of the last five years, while the women's team has won the Lone Star Conference title each of the last four years.
