ACU falls 81-64 to Ouachita Baptist

Wildcats finish 0-2 in Russell Marshall Invitational

ARKADELPHIA, ARK. -- A tough shooting night doomed the ACU Wildcats in an 81-64 loss to the Ouachita Baptist Tigers Saturday night in the Russell Marshall Invitational.

The Wildcats shot just 39.1% from the field and 45% from the free-throw line in the loss that dropped the team to 1-2 on the young season. Norman Alexander and Demarquez Rembert posted double figures for ACU with 13 and 12 points respectively.

The Wildcats were only 5-20 from the 3-point arc while the Tigers hit 9 of 21 and shot 51% from the floor on the evening. The Tigers had three players in double digits with Lucky Butler scoring 18 points in just 22 minutes including 4 of 5 from 3-point land while Brandon Dawson and George Kirby pitched in 16 and 12 points respectively in the victory.

The Tigers led by as many as 19 points and closed the game with a 12-4 run in the final 4:25.

ACU has a week and a half off before returning to action in Austin on Nov. 30 to face St. Edward's University. ACU defeated St. Edward's in both contests last season.
