Scholarship Information (ACU Students Only)
· Ten scholarships will be awarded for Shakespeare this summer.
· If you are a scholarship recipient, you will be assigned a crew position. You will work a total of 20 hours of crew per week (this will include any Saturday calls). You may accrue your 20 hours by setting up a schedule with the appropriate crew supervisor during one or more of the following times:
o M-F 8 a.m.-Noon
o M-F 1 p.m.-5 p.m. (if you are not called to rehearsal)
o Saturdays when there are scheduled work calls.
· You may not take a practicum and receive a scholarship. It?s impossible to satisfy both. If you are earning practicum credit, you will need to meet the hours for practicum as stated in the ACU Theatre handbook.
· If your school bill is paid when the scholarship is placed in your account, you may request a check for that amount of money. If your school bill is not paid, the scholarship is applied to your account to pay the remaining debt. If you are planning on receiving a check, you must make sure your school bill is paid in full before the scholarship is applied.
· Two scholarships will be designated as -Tech Only- Scholarships and will be $1500. -Tech Only- recipients would work 40 hours of crew each week. This would be comparable to a performer putting in 20 hours of rehearsal time plus 20 hours of crew each week. -Tech Only- recipients would also be assigned a backstage position for each production.
· Eight scholarships will be designated as -Performance/Crew- Scholarships and will be $1000 each. -Performance/Crew- members would include the following
o Students cast in both shows and completing 20 hours of crew each week
o Students cast in one show and completing 20 hours of crew each week and serving as running crew for the show they are not cast in.
o Students cast in one show and stage managing or assistant stage managing the other show.
· The scholarship will be applied in two payments:
On June 6th, the first installment of ½ of the scholarship will be applied.
On July 7th, the second installment of the second ½ will be applied.
· Penalty charges will be assigned for missing crew calls or strike, tardies, missed rehearsals, etc.
o $5 for tardies
o $25 for missing a crew call or rehearsal
o $50 for missing set strike
