For the first time since 1983, the ACU Wildcats had multiple players selected in the NFL Draft as both Johnny Knox and Bernard Scott were selected on the second day of the 2009 NFL Draft. Knox and Scott led the football team to 24 combined wins in 2007 and 2008 and the Lone Star Conference championship in 2008. On Sunday, April 26, they moved on to the next phase of their lives when they were each selected in the 2009 NFL Draft. Knox will join former Wildcat all-America defensive back Danieal Manning in Chicago with the Bears, while Scott will begin his NFL career in Cincinnati. ACU had more players selected in the 2009 NFL Draft than traditional college football powers Notre Dame, Florida State, Miami and UCLA, proving once again that being exceptional has more to do with hard work and sacrifice than it does where you're from.
