Where Records Are Broken

Being part of one four-overtime game in a basketball career is noteworthy.  To be part of two is downright ridiculous.

Now imagine the odds that you were a player in one and a head coach in the other.

Then tack on the fact that you've now been part of the two of the three highest-scoring games in NCAA women’s collegiate basketball history, one at the NCAA Division I level and the other at the NCAA Division II level.

If you can imagine all of that, you are ACU women's basketball coach Shawna Lavender.

The 2008-09 athletics year boasted a football team that garnered national attention for its high-octane offense and some of the top players in the country. ACU finished a remarkable 2008 campaign with an 11-1 record that included only the second perfect regular season (10-0) in program history and the program's first outright Lone Star Conference championship since 1973.
