ACU Offers After-School Reading Lab

for immediate release Aug. 19, 1997

A few places are still available in Abilene Christian University's After-School Reading Clinic Sept. 15-Nov. 20 for students in grades 1-12.

The students will receive individualized tutoring, participate in varied reading and writing activities, and use computer games to improve their skills. The clinic aims to help correct reading problems by emphasizing areas of greatest need in each child or teen-ager.

ACU senior education majors will staff the lab from 4-5 p.m. Monday-Thursday for 10 weeks.

Tuition for the Reading Lab is $200 per student for the 10-week session. Payment plans are available as well as discounts for families with more than one child enrolled or who have participated in the program before.

For more information or to request an application, call the ACU Department of Education office at 674-2112 or Dr. Pat Simpson, reading lab director, at 915-674-2121 (days) or 677-5417 (evenings).
