KACU-FM Launches Worldwide Pledge Drive

for immediate release Sept. 30, 1997

KACU will introduce its new web site during its Fall '97 pledge drive Oct. 5- 9.

The new interactive site will feature real-time audio from the KACU broadcast and on-line pledge forms. Now Internet users can tune into 89.7 anywhere in the world at www.kacu.org. That's why this is the 89.7 KACU Worldwide Pledge Drive.

Since 1986, KACU has brought listeners the world through quality National Public Radio programs such as Morning Edition, All Things Considered, Car Talk and Hearts of Space. KACU must pay for rights to air these programs through donations and sponsorships. KACU receives no federal or state funding.

Many community supporters will join KACU on the air to ask for support from past members and to recruit new members. The success of the pledge drive is essential to the future of KACU. Through donations, members ensure that KACU will continue to broadcast the culturally rich and thought-provoking programming they have come to expect.

KACU is the only National Public Radio provider in the Big Country and has grown to become the finest professional broadcast training facility in West Texas.

We have brought the world to you, now 89.7 KACU is Worldwide!
