Dr. Waymon Hinson, chair of the Department of Marriage and Family Therapy at Abilene Christian University, will conduct a one-hour teleconference on Tuesday, Nov. 4, for honors program students at 54 universities and colleges in the United States and Puerto Rico.

Major Boglin, assistant professor of marriage and family therapy at ACU, will assist Hinson in a discussion of family counseling and therapy.

They will broadcast from the distance-learning studio at Oklahoma State University. Students will phone in questions during the teleconference.

The presentation is part of the 1997 Satellite Seminar offered by the National Collegiate Honors Council. The theme of this year's seminar is "Family: Myth, Metaphor and Reality."

Hinson is using the teleconferences this semester in an Honors Program colloquium, "Tough-Minded on Family." His ACU honors students will participate in the telecast in the Adams Center for Teaching Excellence, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. as part of their class.
