Student To Switch Roles with ACU President

for immediate release March 10, 1998

An Abilene Christian University student will switch roles with Dr. Royce Money, ACU president, for most of the day Wednesday, March 11.

Shanta Pandit, a sophomore business administration major from Nashville, Tenn., will trade places with Money during the fifth annual Big Switch, sponsored by the ACU Student Alumni Association to promote understanding between students and administration. Every undergraduate student could enter the drawing, and Pandit's name was drawn during Chapel Monday.

Pandit already has leadership experience through the ACU Students' Association as assistant chair of the Wildcat Kids Committee.

Shanta's schedule as president:

7 a.m. - Shanta and Dr. Money will be on the air together during KACU-FM's pledge drive (KACU Studio, Don Morris Center)

8-10:50 a.m. - Administrative duties in the President's Office

8:45 a.m. - Meet with Charles Trevathan, associate legal counsel

9 a.m. - Meet with Jack Rich, executive vice president

9:30 a.m. - Meet with Dwayne VanRheenen, provost

10 a.m. - Meet with Mimi Barnard, instructor of English

10:30 a.m. - Meet with Scott Galloway, director of residential life

11 a.m. - Attend Chapel in Moody Coliseum and sit with faculty members in Section A

11:30 a.m. - Luncheon with friends in the President's Dining Room (McGlothlin Campus Center)

1-3 p.m. - Attend her regular classes while Dr. Money has his regular meetings with vice presidents

Dr. Money's schedule as a student:

7 a.m. - Shanta and Dr. Money will be on the air together during KACU-FM's pledge drive (KACU Studio, Don Morris Center)

8 a.m. - Take test in Human Resource Management class (Mabee Business Building Room 115)

9 a.m. - Attend Accounting II class (Mabee Business Building Room 118)

10 a.m. - Attend Principles of Marketing class (Mabee Business Building Room 217)

11 a.m. - Attend Chapel in Moody Coliseum (he's meeting Shanta's friends by the stage and then sitting with them)

11:30 a.m. - Lunch with some of Shanta's friends in The Bean (McGlothlin Campus Center)

1-3 p.m. - Have regular meetings with vice presidents while Shanta goes to her regular classes

POSSIBLE ADDITIONS:

3 p.m. - Dr. Money has a meeting scheduled with the Hardin-Simmons and McMurry presidents at this time, but he will try to go by Sherrod Residential Park at East North 10th and Cedar Crest to take Shanta's skills test in her golf class if he can.

5 p.m. - Dr. Money may attend the ACU Students' Association Senate meeting and sit in Shanta's seat (Teague Auditorium in the Biblical Studies Building). He may also attend Shanta's Acappella Chorus rehearsal (Recital Hall in the Burford Music Building).
