ACU’s executive director of facilities and campus management, Corey Ruff, was recently elected to the board of directors for the Professional Grounds Management Society. ACU has been an institutional member of the national organization for eight years and received a PGMS Green Star Award for Jacob’s Dream in 2010.
Ruff will serve as the south central regional director, which includes Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico and Texas. This position is not only important for Ruff personally, but also for ACU.
“I’m getting to work on a national level with the best of the best in the green industry, leveraging their expertise and bringing that experience back to ACU to make our campus a place where our students, faculty and staff can be even more successful,” he said.
Ruff earned a degree in landscape architecture at Texas Tech University. He oversees the university’s landscape and facilities operations and works closely with ACU’s construction department to ensure standards are consistent across campus.
“Our operations team works really hard at being good stewards of ACU’s resources,” Ruff said.
