For the second year, ACU has earned a #27 ranking on The Princeton Review’s just-published list saluting the top 50 undergraduate schools to study game design for 2017.

The Princeton Review chose the schools based on a survey it conducted in 2016 of 150 institutions offering game design coursework and/or degrees in the United States, Canada and some countries abroad.

The company’s 40-question survey asked schools to report on everything from their academic offerings and faculty credentials to their graduates’ starting salaries and employment experience. Among criteria The Princeton Review weighed to make its selections: the school’s academics, facilities, career services and technology.

ACU’s game design program is part of the digital entertainment technology curriculum, which equips students with tools needed to create digital content and learn about the creative processes behind concepts and design.

“We are very happy to have the quality of the Digital Entertainment Technology major again be recognized by the Princeton Review,” said Dr. Brian Burton, associate professor of digital entertainment technology. “Achieving a rank of 27 of the hundreds of game design programs is an accomplishment.”

“Game design is an exciting field, and programs are springing up in colleges all over the world,” said The Princeton Review’s editor in chief Robert Franek. “We strongly recommend ACU and each of the other schools that made our 2017 ranking lists. These schools have outstanding faculties and great facilities, which will give students the skills and experience they need to pursue a career in this dynamic and burgeoning field.”

The Princeton Review teams up with PC Gamer magazine as its reporting partner on this project, and the magazine’s May issue includes a feature with some of the schools’ unique programs, class offerings, prominent professors and alumni.
