The Chronicle of Higher Education named ACU a 2016 “Great College to Work For” in its report recognizing institutions that have created exceptional work environments.
The university has earned a spot on the list for eight of the last nine years. This year, ACU was honored in four categories:
1. Facilities, Workspace and Security: Facilities meet employees’ needs, and the campus looks good.
2. Job Satisfaction: There is an overall sense that the job is meaningful to the employee and to the college.
3. Supervisor or Department-Chair Relationship: Supervisors or chairs solicit ideas and make expectations clear.
4. Work/Life Balance: Policies give employees flexibility to manage their lives on the job and at home.
The Chronicle surveyed more than 46,000 administrators, faculty members and professional support staff members at 281 colleges and universities. The publication also gathered an institutional audit of information on demographics and workplace policies from each institution.
ACU is among only 69 four-year institutions to be honored.
