Posted November 12, 2013

Senior Kayli Huddleston received the 2013 Excellence in Education Scholarship at the Human Resources Southwest Conference, held in Fort Worth Oct. 20-23, 2013.

Huddleston was selected for recognition from a group representing more than 30 student chapters of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). She enjoyed having the opportunity to learn from the more than 2,000 human resources (HR) professionals who attended the conference, which is one of the largest of its kind in the nation.

“I am eager to learn all I can about the human resources field,” says Huddleston, business management major from San Angelo. “I have had great classroom preparation, but the conference gave me a more real-world concept of the inner workings of HR.”

Huddleston was presented with a $1,000 scholarship in addition to the net proceeds from the conference’s silent auction. She will graduate this May and hopes to pursue an entry-level career in human resource management in either the Fort Worth or the Austin area.
