Wallace to Present on Communication Training

Posted October 23, 2013

The National Communication Association’s Training and Development Division is presenting its last web/teleseminar for 2013 on “Training and Development Best Practices: Tools for Communication Professionals” at 2-3 p.m. central Thursday, October 24. Abilene Christian University’s Communication Professor J.D. Wallace will be the featured speaker. To date these best practices have been endorsed by professional consultants and individuals representing over 100 colleges and universities with a potential reach of over 1 million students.

Best Practices among communication practitioners and scholars are always in demand and rarely available. Barriers to useable best practices include proprietary interests, lack of scalability, impoverished shelf-life, and minimal usability. To overcome these barriers, NCA’s Training and Development Division conducted an extensive multi-year effort involving thousands of topics and sources to establish primary issues of interest for communication professionals.

This webinar will present seven primary issues of interest for communication professionals, describe 12 best practices that address those issues, and suggest how best practices can contribute to competency,
accountability, and transparency. Participants will be given access to the best practices and be included in a discussion that touches on understanding, implementing, and leveraging them for their particular
situation.
