Local authors share West Texas Christmas tales

Posted October 07, 2013

Christmas is a treasured holiday, a time for family and friends to gather and share stories of laughter, legacy and love. The recently published West Texas Christmas Stories is a collection of 32 heartwarming and humorous Christmas tales set in West Texas.

Many of the authors are from Abilene and surrounding communities. As part of September's West Texas Literary Festival, Betty Davis, Loretta Fulton, Jim Richmond, Glenn Dromgoole, and ACU alumni Dr. Jack Boyd (’55) and Doug Mendenhall (’82) read their personal stories aloud during the lunch program at the main branch of the Abilene Public Library. Boyd is ACU professor emeritus of music and Mendenhall is ACU instructor of journalism and mass communication, and journalist-in-residence.
